The Gruesome Cartoon Movie Ending That Lingers Fans

Among all the mature cartoon movies I have personally watched, nothing has stuck with me quite like the fear-filled conclusion of the graphically gory as well as overwhelingly transgressive 2022 movie The Unicorn Wars.

In 2015’s, the Spain-based filmmaker crafted a grim, somber , often savage universe with some tiny , desolate glimmers of hope.

While The Unicorn Wars appears as it originated from an impulse to advance animation further, the filmmaker stated that it was actually an attempt to communicate a global, multicultural message regarding “the mutual source of every conflict.”

That idea is conveyed by means of a group of vividly colored bears , openly inspired by a well-known line of cuddly characters.

Being raised in a culture built around militarism as well as the war machine, many of these animals are obsessed with exterminating unicorns, due to a religious scripture which states them they used to be kings of the woodland, until the unicorns forced them out.

A few did not entirely accepted the indoctrination, , choose to try out narcotics and fornicate in the woods.

Unlike their friendly equivalents, these vivid animals show genitals , obvious libidos.

For one especially vicious, cynical bear, Bluey, the battle with the unicorns transforms into a path toward dominance — and specifically to dominance over his more tender, more compassionate sibling the bear Tubby.

The character behaves aggressively and an apparent psychopath , and when horror takes over his squad and claims his teammates one by one, he takes progressively control for himself, through ever more violent, destructive ways.

At the same time, the unicorns are suffering their own terror, through a spreading, harmful creature in their habitat.

“At the beginning, it feels like a lighthearted film,” the director said. “But then it evolves into a more dramatic and sad film. And by the end, it’s a horror film.”

The Unicorn Wars begins feeling a bit like one of the more playful features by a renowned animator, which find a mischievous joy in letting drawn beings curse, fire weapons, or have intimate relations.

Afterward it turns into more akin to a bleaker work by that same creator, with increasingly graphic violence , a palpable relation to genuine tragedy of war.

In the finale, it becomes a complete theatrical horror carnage.

The horror which makes the film a Halloween-friendly movie begins well before than one might expect.

Unicorn Wars is ideal for the devoted fans of gore, for lovers of extreme cinema who wish to view a movie they haven’t ever viewed until now, and who can handle a narrative which delivers unflinching brutality.

Watch it in a dark room free from interruptions, and the finale will crawl into your mind and linger.
